Proof that I "Junk It" at home as well as at the shop! Our Garden and Ideas

Awesome Idea that I saw last year. Just had to add this to my rock garden and the Kids was soooooo happy too. Ha Ha.

Added this about the same time that I added the toilet. Saw this in the Birds Bloom magazine. These belong to my dad and had been sitting in the back of the closet for twenty years. So now when I go outside a part of him is out there with me.

Can't really see it but there is a Black iron headboard there. The ivey really needs to be trimmed back and the headboard needs to be painted a different color so it will stand out more. This was the first of my rock garden. Family thought I was going nuts when I started putting "Junk" out in the yard.

Another idea that we saw in the Birds in Bloom magazine. In the magazine the bedspring was in better condition and was mounted on a wall which looked alot better than mine. I think that if I painted it instead of letting it be rusted it might stand out more. Blue ridge plates adds a little color.

Sitting area under construction. ha ha...... More cleaning out to do and trying to find a swing .

This will be added to the sitting area when we finish it. Scott made a bench out of two metal chairs. We are looking for special pots that he is wanting to put in the sitting area of the chair. We we find them, then flowers will be added.

This is something that we recently found. It will soon be in the sitting area too. Going to find a running plant of some sort.....not sure if I want any more ivey, to put in there and then line the bottom with either plants or rocks or both.

Another idea that I just saw this morning. Taking palets and making fences out of them. Been wondering what I could use in my sitting area to make it a little more private. Now I just need to find one to two more.

Hope you enjoyed my garden.

Tannehill Trade Days April 2011

Oh what an Awesome weekend. It didn't start off perfectly though. We couldn't leave Friday to set up like we normally do because of all the weather that was coming through. So even though I hate having to get up at 2:00am to make that trip it was safest way to be. So we headed out a little after 3:00am and arrived at 5:30am. We were not the only ones that had decided not to ride the storms out it the Tannehill hollow. Usually 75 percent of us vendors set up on Friday but when we arrived there was probably 20 people there ahead of us. Boy was it cold and MUDDY. We started setting up and I was sooooo thankful that I had brought my sweats but was starting to get worried that I had missed packed. By the time we were set up my shoes were completely caked with mud and I had mud up to my knees. Still very cold and now at this time very WINDY. Lets just say for the record that wind and my trade does not get along very well. We were having up to 20 mph winds, very strong and I held my breath and prayed a lot during Saturday. My prayers was answered and I had nothing to get damaged from the wind fortunately, others out there was not so fortunate. One vendor just a few spaces down had there tent to break under the pressure of the wind. By lunch time we were packed, I think that it was later during the day Saturday than norm because of the weather the night before, and even though everyone was talking about the wind/cold they were definitely trading. Night came and we were cold, muddy and exhausted. We went down to the Mill and walked the trail behind it. The creek that runs beside it was running full steam and it was beautiful.

Finally came down to eating supper and passing out. Long, Awesome, Cold, Fantastic, Muddy Day! But neither of us, Scott or I, slept very well because I packed for hot not cold so needless to say we froze. I woke up several times because I was shivering so hard. Scott made a suggestion that I will definitely take heed of. We will start packing for both no matter what because when I pack for cold it is hot (like last time) and when I pack for hot it is cold (like this time).
Sunday's always start off slow the main crowd doesn't come in until 1:00pm after church. Most interesting of the day was watching my fellow vendor, Ms Cindy, go off on the most annoying vendor next to her. The lady definitely had it coming. Finally the weekend came to an end, packed up and arrived back home around 10:00pm Sunday night and Boy did we ever truly pass out then.
Awesome weekend, bought some great stuff to put into the shoppe, will post pics of that later. Last month was the best that we had ever did and this month top it. Can you say "AWESOME"! Thank you Lord for Blessing our weekend!!

Mom's Quilts

This are just a few of my Mother's Quilts. Some are pre-printed fabic and some are block style (on those she cuts the pieces herself). Most of the sewing she does do on the sewing maching she use to hand stitch everything but mother is 75 now and has really curved knotted figures and the hand stitching hurts too much for her to do any more. She usually sticks to do the baby quilts, they are much more managable. However she has started going a little bigger and making a throw size. She made a Awesome tye die throw quilt for my daughter in block style. It was many different colors in the tye die look with white blocks in between, it is beautiful.
